Lime Pie

On the rare mornings I get up early with nothing to do, I always end up baking. Today I decided to try out this ancient recipe for a lime pie.
Below is the recipe if you want to try it out yourself.
Lime juice and lime zest (the zest kind of looks like wasabi, eek!)
Pieshell before and after the oven. Its supposed to be very sweet to even out the sour taste of the limes, but I don’t have such a sweet tooth so I used half the amount of sugar.

Here it is! Ain’t she a beauty? Using just a few simple ingredients, making the thing is as easy as pie.
And my, is it delicious. Really, when it comes to baking pies, less is always more.

EASY AS PIE LIME PIE.
-250 g flour.
-200 g cold butter, chopped.
-150 g icing sugar.
-5 eggs.
- 3 limes.

PIESHELL
For the dough, combine 125 g butter, 100 g icing sugar, the flour and one egg with your hands. Let it rest in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
Then place the dough in a pie dish (preferably a springform pan) and bake it in the oven (200′C) for 15 minutes.

FILLING
Zest and juice the limes, and mix this is a bowl with the remaining eggs,icing sugar and (melted!) butter. When the pie dish is out of the oven, pour the limesauce into the pieshell and let it bake in the oven for (give or take) 30 minutes. The top should be nice and brown. Let it cool down before slicing!

Being an interiordesigner has always been high on my list of career choices (probably due to my father; the architect), and it actually still is.
Thats the reason I was thrilled when I ’stumbled upon’ this website, desire to inspire
Believe me, its beyond. I already spend hours (if not days) on this site, and the inspiration just kept dripping of my screen.
Here are some of my favorites (because I already have about 1,000 pics saved on my mac. Not kidding. Organized in 43 folders with names as ‘Balconies’ and ‘Lofts’. Craaazy)
The perfect dressing room. White, spacey, comfortable and bright.
Imagine sitting here with a cup of coffee and a good book at 6.30 in the morning. While its raining. And the sun is rising. Mmmmmm.
They say money can’t buy happiness. But when I earn enough to place this kitchen in a beautiful NYC based loft, I’d be pretty darn happy. If possible, it would be even more amazing when those double doors in the back lead to a beautiful garden. More on gardens later.
Wouldn’t mind this kitchen either …
Bliss. Pure bliss.
I dont get why people dont see the value of a nice dining room. Most diningrooms turn into a second living room, and everyone eats in the kitchen. A diningroom can be a room with so many happy memories. Christmas dinner, birthday dinners and dinnerparties!
Light is the most important. And ofcourse, sunlight’s the best. This window(wall) is só pretty. Can only imagine the view.

The Parade

So, thursday the 22th of July I visited the Parade in Utrecht. The Parade is an anual festival with lots of theatershows, music, little café’s and other fun stuff. Ánd its outside, so I decided to bring my camera and just shoot away.
